Common RICA Metrics

The common metric catalog lists the active RICA metrics used for comparable project reporting and Atlas analytics. These metrics are intentionally compact. RICA prefers a smaller set of reportable metrics that sponsors can maintain over a large taxonomy that creates weak or inconsistent submissions.

Metric Grouping

Metric Type	Purpose
Biodiversity	Tracks landscape, water, farmland adaptation, and nature-stewardship distribution outcomes.
Decarbonization	Tracks greenhouse gas emissions avoided and carbon durably sequestered.
Livelihoods	Tracks economic participation through income and jobs.
Nutrition	Tracks food-system output where project frameworks produce horticultural supply.

Retired Or Historical Metrics

RICA should not ask sponsors to report retired split metrics unless a specific project agreement requires them. Historical values may remain in Atlas for auditability, but new reporting should use the common metric set.

Retired metrics may still be important in project files, framework descriptions, or technical methods. The reporting standard only says they should not be active common metrics unless RICA makes a new product decision.
